Beacon + Javelin

Yesterday was the release of Beacon’s debut full length album The Ways We Seperate. This chilled out electro-pop soundscape incurs memories of a Beach House and Washed Out type of style. This duo from Brooklyn lays down some really smooth beats and some hazy vocals over top of lots of bell sounds. This album is super solid all the way through, I really like the tracks “Bring You Back,” “Feeling’s Gone,” and “Headlights.”

Up next is New York/L.A. duo Javelin with their latest full length Hi Beams. This band has some incredibly fresh pop-tronic music. Javelin shows massive range on this LP. From the glitchy auto tune of “Nnormal,” to a Rocky-esque themed tune, “Judgement Night.” Hi Beams is definitely an album worth buying, which you can do here. Check out the tracks “Light Out” and “Drummachines.” Javelin will be playing Mississippi Studios with Jamaican Queens next Wednesday 5/8, so don’t miss it.
