Finally got more coverage of our Treefort 2016 adventure. Thursday brought us a bunch of awesome acts that were all so much fun.
Sun Blood Stories
First act we saw was local Boise band Sun Blood Stories. Their performance was one of the best for the weekend! There was so much power and stoney rock and roll from these high desert homies.
Next we saw former Shaky Hands member, Nicholas Delffs perform his one man act as Death Songs.
Aaron Mark Brown
We hustled over to Linen Building to catch Aaron Mark Brown. This pop band from Nampa, ID has an olde-timey folk-jazz sound to them. It’s music that makes your toes tap.
Sugar Candy Mountain
Sugar Candy Mountain was super fuzzy and psychedelic, a little less pop live than their recordings. We only caught a few songs of them before flying off to the next venue.
We stopped at Crowbar for some drinks and electronic music before heading to El Korah Shrine for HINDS. The Spanish band has a groovy garage rock sound to them. Super fun to see live.
Next was Baby Ghosts from Salt Lake City. A rocking performance from them too. If you like a little punk thrown into your garage rock then check out this band.
Ural Thomas & The Pain
The highlight of the night was Ural Thomas & The Pain. Straight up soul music, with the most charming lead singer we saw all weekend.
Thee Oh Sees
To cap off the night we caught the very end of Thee Oh Sees. A super packed El Korah was crowd surfing and dancing all over the place. It was great way to end the second night of Treefort.
