It’s almost two months away until the fifth installment of Treefort Music Festival in downtown Boise, ID. It has been a pleasure to see this festival mature and grow over the last five years. I’m really excited for this year! So, let me share some bands that will be playing later on in March.
The band JAWWZZ!! is from Salt Lake City. With a fuzzy garage rock style, the uptempo pop of the drum beats will keep you moving your booty all over the place. The heavy distortion on the guitars matches the vocal tone as well. I’m stoked to jump in and rip it up to JAWWZZ!! during Treefort.
Acid Dad is from NYC and they have a new EP that is just about to be released. They are a fast, heavy psych-rock band with great songwriting and catchy guitar riffs. The bass lines are super poppy as well, really dig these guys sound a bunch.
Here is Boise band, HiHazel. They are a psychedelic band that has more of a drone type of sound to it. A lot of repeated guitar riffs over a muddled bass line and vocals. It makes for great chilling out music. Definitely going to make it to this show.
The initial lineup for Treefort Music Fest 2015 was announced over the weekend. It already looks like a killer time in Boise at the end of March. Treefort is bringing big names like TV on the Radio this year along with Trampled By Turtles, Yacht, Hooray For the Riff Raff, Generationals, and more. Here at Killing Sasquatch we pride ourselves with bringing you artists that sound really good, but are not as well known. So we found a few bands towards the bottom of the initial lineup to showcase and to get you pumped up for Treefort Music Fest 2015.
First up is San Francisco band Cool Ghouls. They have a great mixture of rock ‘n’ roll and psychedelic music. They are super catchy with their guitar riffs and vocals.
Next is De Lux from LA. This duo has an incredible sound to them. Post-disco sounds that makes you think of Talking Heads, along with funky bass lines that make you want to shake your booty. Yet De Lux makes their music really fresh to stay relevant in this day and age.
Last band we have for you today is Seattle rock band, Posse. These guys play chilled out rock that reminds me of Sonny & The Sunsets with shades of Velvet Underground. Posse’s latest album Soft Opening is cool and catchy and a must listen if you like rock and roll.
