Albums of February ’21

Django Django – Glowing in the Dark

Here’s the latest album for the London band Django Django. It’s their fourth studio album and it’s called Glowing in the Dark. The new album has a sound that is reminiscent of late 2000s rock ‘n’ roll energy. The way they layer their vocals along with the upbeat drums and high-flying synths, makes Glowing in the Dark an extremely fun and intoxicating listen. Favorite tracks are “Spirals”, “Free From Gravity”, and “Got Me Worried”.

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard – L.W.

The newest full length album of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard is called L.W. This album is a follow up to K.G. which was released back in October. Continuing the microtonal themes of that release, L.W. is an amazing and compelling work of psychedelic rock and roll. This is one of my favorite albums so far this year, and could possible be one of the best albums that comes out this year. The highly prolific Australian band is planning on releasing another two full lengths sometime this year.

South Of France – Remember That Cool Thing We Did

This is the Denver artist South of France sophomore release named Remember That Cool Thing We Did. This album is a bit more gritty sounding in the guitars and vocals even than the debut album. South of France still has that easy, electrifying fuzz-pop sound that makes the perfect backdrop to early Spring’s erratic weather patterns. Definitely a must listen.
